BIO
Born in San Francisco, CA, Paola demonstrated a proclivity for visual art at an extremely young age. She developed a taste for the eclectic-- immersed in the cultural and artistic tapestry of the city.
Miss Cutri studied Theater at UCLA's School of Theater, Film, & Television with an emphasis in set, costume, and lighting design. For her artistic achievement, she was awarded the Gil Cates Fellowship. Upon graduation from UCLA, Paola was admitted to USC's world-class School of Cinematic Arts. Focused on directing and screenwriting, she received her MFA in Film Production.
Paola describes her filmmaking process as a deep emotional expression embedded in stylized visuals, cultural sensibilities, and metaphor. Her filmmaking style integrates texture, color, and rhythm alongside compositional fluidity. Through these artistic elements, she brings the story to life.
Paola recently completed UCLA's Professional Program in Screenwriting.
She is a Grand Prize winner of the Time Warner Cable Short Film Contest in Association with IFC. A panel of expert judges awarded her a trip to the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.
